It was 99 years ago that PG Wodehouse wrote his first Jeeves and Wooster story.
Nearly a century on, Wodehouse’s hilarious tales of the amiable buffoon Bertie Wooster and his unflappable manservant Jeeves still find a ready audience.
Now Kent theatre-goers have the opportunity to experience a new take on Jeeves and Wooster in Perfect Nonsense.
The Olivier Award-winning comedy will be coming to Canterbury's Marlowe Theatre for a five-night run in March. The show will see Robert Webb reprising his West End role as Bertie Wooster, Jason Thorpe as Jeeves and Christopher Ryan appearing as Seppings.
Robert Webb is best known for his role as Jeremy in Channel 4’s multi-award winning Peep Show which he stars alongside long-time collaborator David Mitchell. Jason Thorpe has recently appeared on stage in several West End shows. He has also been a regular on our TV screens in show's such as the BBC adaptation of Charles Dickens’ Little Dorrit, Holy Flying Circus and and ITV’s acclaimed science fiction drama Primeval.
TV viewers will also remember Christopher Ryan - he played Mike in the iconic television series The Young Ones where he starred alongside Rik Mayall, Adrian Edmondson, Nigel Planer and Alexei Sayle.
Adapted from PG Wodehouse’s The Code of The Woosters by Robert and David Goodale, Perfect Nonsense is produced by Mark Goucher and Mark Rubinstein.
