A Kent attraction reopening this weekend is to open its gates for free to emergency workers for three days beforehand.
Chatham Historic Dockyard is set to reopen for visitors on Saturday, July 25, after being closed since March due to the coronavirus pandemic.
But it has announced it will also be opening its gates for free, from Wednesday, July 22 until Friday, July 24, exclusively for Blue Light Card holders.
The dockyard and its buildings, which played their own role in defending the country throughout history, wants to show its appreciation to the modern day defenders and heroes that have supported the country through the current crisis.
During its enforced closure, the trust which runs the dockyard lit its buildings blue and hung banners in support for the NHS.
As a thank you to all Blue Light services, the trust will be opening specially for Blue Light Card holders. There will be a limited number of free tickets available each day, which will need to be booked in advance via the website at thedockyard.co.uk
