Ashford: Bellowhead lead singer Jon Boden to play solo gig at Revelation St Mary's Church

It’s a decade since Bellowhead frontman Jon Boden released his debut solo album.

And it’s also six months since the 11-piece folk band he led so charismatically played their final gig.

This year his album, Painted Lady, which features 12 self-penned songs including his low-fi interpretation of Whitney Houston’s classic I Wanna Dance (with Somebody), was re-issued and Jon is back on the road to celebrate the 10th anniversary.

Away from the world of folk, Jon has composed music for theatre and film, from two Royal Shakespeare productions to the signature theme for the BBC2 comedy series Count Arthur Strong. He even make a cameo appearance in the Richard Curtis film About Time.
