Bestselling author Kathy Lette has announced she will appear in Whitstable as the town looks to build on its burgeoning reputation for literature.
Kathy will discuss her new novel Courting Trouble with fellow author and columnist Jane Wenham-Jones at the Horsebridge Centre on Friday, September 12.
After enjoying success as a teenager with her debut book Puberty Blues she worked for several years as a newspaper columnist and TV sitcom writer in Australia and America.
She has written 11 bestselling books including Mad Cows, How to Kill Your Husband – and Other Handy Household Hints and The Boy Who Fell to Earth.
WhitLit director Victoria Falconer says she hopes the event will help spark interest in next year’s festival.
Victoria said: “We are really excited to present Kathy and Jane... We want to build on the success of our first festival, create regular events that we hope will interest our audience and importantly raise funds for our next festival.”
Tickets are £10 in advance, £12 on the door and available from the Horsebridge Centre on 01227 281174 or www.horsebridge-centre.org.uk
All proceeds from ticket sales will go to the WhitLit Festival fund and Horsebridge Centre.
