A gin festival which claims to be the biggest of its kind in the UK has confirmed two dates in Kent this year.
The Great British Gin Festival will be at the Kent Event Centre in Maidstone on Friday, June 7 and Saturday, June 8.
But the two towns it had originally hoped to visit - Folkestone and Tunbridge Wells in March and April - have not yet been confirmed.
So far 20 dates have been confirmed, including the Kent Event Centre.
The festival features more than 100 different international gins from household names and unusual flavours, to exclusive, small batch gins, with a gin glass and gin bible given on arrival to guide guests through their tasting experience.
There will also be entertainment including talks and trade stands, cocktail demo’s, interactive games and a live band, creating a sophisticated festival vibe.
Brands to be featured include Smeatons Gin, Mr Hobbs Gin, Poetic License, JJ Whitley, Liverpool Gin, Marylebone Gin, Old Tom’s Gin, the Whitley Neill family and Sir Robin of Locksley.
There will also be trade stands with samples, talks about the history of gin, mixology demonstrations and even games to play, plus a live swing band.
The event will run from noon to 4pm both days.
Tickets are now on sale from £13.50 plus a booking fee from thegreatbritishginfest.co.uk.
Bars at the festival will be operating a ‘no cash’ system, instead visitors buy a drinks card on entry, where £5 buys a single measure of gin, garnish and a mixer. More dates are due to be announced soon.
