The British Superbike Championship’s ‘War for Four’ reaches its climax at Brands Hatch this weekend. Sittingbourne rider Shane Byrne has a 12-point lead over Japanese rival Ryuichi Kiyonari, with both men out to win the title for a record fourth time.
Qualifying is on Friday, October 17, before the championship is settled on the final three races of the season. The first race takes place on Saturday, with two on Sunday.
Shane said: “If I win one race, the pressure’s really on Ryuichi and all I have to do is finish second in the other two. That’s not bravado – that’s reality. Winning that first one, or winning any of them, is going to be tough. Wins don’t come on the back of Frosties packets.”
Brands Hatch is also set for dramatic climaxes in the Motorpoint British Supersport, Pirelli National Superstock 600, and Eastern Airways British Sidecar championships.
Tickets cost £32 on the gate, under-13s free. More details at www.brandshatch.co.uk
