A drinks festival with more than 40 different ciders is raising a glass over the bank holiday weekend.
You just can’t beat a cold pint in the sun when a bank holiday rolls around and, for those who like a fruity drink in the summer, the Brogdale Cider Festival returns to the Faversham farm for two days.
The festival has become a staple of the town’s summer calendar and, this year, there will be plenty of exclusive barrels, unique flavours and local producers to choose from.
The event boasts more than 40 different ciders and Perry to sample and cider-making demonstrations using fruit grown on-site at the orchard and from across Kent.
Teams from small-batch producers all over the county will also be on hand to tell you more about their tipples.
Over the weekend, visitors can expect to sup pints from Biddenden Cider, Hernhill Cider, Kent Cider, Mat Cat Brewery and more.
To help soak up the booze, there will be stalls selling hot food and snacks throughout the day.
There will also be live music from bands like Curb Pilots and Hullabaloo, children’s entertainment and craft activities.
The car park will be open and, for those travelling by train, the farm is putting on a shuttle bus service from Faversham train station to Brogdale from 10am to 5pm.
The Brogdale Cider Festival takes place on Saturday, August 24 and Sunday, August 25. You can book tickets online here.
If the cider festival gets you in the mood to sample some more local booze, Faversham’s annual Hop Festival will return the following weekend.
The free beer festival will see pop-up bars, music stages and Morris dancers take over the town on Saturday, August 31 and Sunday, September 1.
