Get ready for an evening of sharp satire as Nish Kumar, former host of the the Mash Report and Late Night Mash, brings his new stand-up tour to Kent.
Your Power, Your Control is the latest live show penned by the political comedian, and will make its first stop in Kent this weekend at Theatre Royal in Margate.
The tour will then visit Leas Cliff Hall in Folkestone in March, the Woodville in Gravesend on Thursday, April 21 and, finally, the Assembly Hall Theatre, Tunbridge Wells on Sunday, April 24.
While most people will recognise Nish from his television appearances, including Taskmaster, Live At The Apollo, QI and Have I Got News For You, others may know him for his many stand-up shows, two of which were nominated for Best Show at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards.
Nish, who went to St Olave's Grammar School in Orpington, said: “The show has got longer every night because it’s as much fun as I’ve ever had on stage.”
“My therapist used the phrase when he said to me ‘you’ve got to focus on what’s in your power and in your control’, and I thought ‘that’s a good title for something’.
"The phrase occurs in the show in its entirety and I thought it would be nice to have a title from a phrase that does pop up in the show at some point. I think Power, Corruption And Lies would have been good, but New Order had already taken that.”
