Cheese, wine, gin and Kent green hop beer – there’s a mouthwatering selection on offer at this weekend’s Broadstairs Food Festival.
Running from Friday, September 29, at 10am to Sunday, September 30, at 5pm, events are held at various locations around the town.
There will be more than 100 stalls selling regional produce, a refreshment marquee, chef’s theatre where you can watch chefs create culinary masterpieces, a vintage tea parlour and children’s activities.
Highlights include a cheese and wine masterclass, hosted by Biddenden Vineyard with Canterbury Cheesemakers and Kingcott Dairy on Friday, with tickets £20.
There’s also wine tasting and craft beer and food pairing sessions, as well as a tour of the award-winning Gadds Brewery in Hornet Close, when for £12.50 visitors can see how the beer is made, and get to sniff and taste the hops – as well as taste the fresh, local ale itself.
The Kent Green Hop Beer Fortnight, launched at last weekend’s Canterbury Food and Drink Festival, and running until Sunday, October 8, will also be celebrated at the festival.
