It may not be the Summer of ‘69 but the summer of ‘16 promises to be memorable for Bryan Adams fans as he heads to Kent this weekend.
Everything he does, he’ll be doing for the crowd at the Spitfire Ground this weekend.
Canadian superstar Bryan Adams – famous for his massive 1991 hit (Everything I Do) I Do It for You – comes to Canterbury for a special gig.
The multi-platinum recording artist comes to the county as part of his European Get Up tour and comes hot on the heels of the release of his new album, Get Up.
He said: “The Get Up Tour is shaping up to be a fantastic summer. We have seen such a great response from fans that we wanted to play as many places as possible, which is why I am delighted we’re doing the Canterbury concert.
“We’ll be rocking the stage with songs from the new album, which I think are some of my finest yet, and of course there’ll be some of the old favourites too.”
Jamie Clifford, chief executive from Kent County Cricket Club, said: “We love bringing music to Canterbury and look forward to welcoming Bryan. He has a reputation as an entertaining live performer and we hope music fans can come along and enjoy a night to remember.”
One of the world’s bestselling artists, he has sold more than 100m albums worldwide and Get Up is his 13th studio album.
Starting out in 1983 with his album Cuts Like a Knife, it was the following year with his album Reckless that he became a household name, with songs such as Run to You and Summer of ‘69.
In 1991 with the release of (Everything I Do) I Do It for You he notched up one of the bestselling singles of all time, which appeared on the soundtrack album for the film Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.
The concert comes to the home of the Kent Spitfires, the Spitfire Ground at St Lawrence thanks to the Liz Hobbs Group, which aims to bring music and sport together.
The site saw Simply Red perform in June and last year Madness.
