But Canterbury actor Ben Roddy, who regularly plays the dame in the Marlowe Theatre’s pantomime, is coming to his home town in more traditional dress.
Starring in Don’t Dress For Dinner, Marc Camoletti’s comedy, he will be joined by Olivier Award-winning actress Sara Crowe from EastEnders and Four Weddings And A Funeral and Damian Williams, who has starred in Birds Of A Feather and Being Tommy Cooper.
In the fast-paced farce, Bernard’s wife Jacqueline is away for the weekend, so he invites his Parisian mistress Suzy to stay. He also invites his best friend Robert along as an alibi and hires chef Suzette to prepare a feast.
The play, which is in its 30th year of touring, comes to the Marlowe Theatre, Canterbury, on Monday, May 8 and Tuesday, May 9.
