Lose yourself in the story of an ordinary girl with extraordinary talent as Beautiful - The Carole King Musical comes to the Orchard Theatre.
The remarkable true story of the singer’s life and career is being brought to the Dartford stage from Tuesday, April 26 to Saturday, April 30.
From being part of a songwriting team with her husband Gerry Goffin to her friendship with Cynthia Weil and Barry Mann, Carole King’s incredible work in the industry has seen her become one of the most successful solo acts in music history.
Carole first found fame as a songwriter in the 1960s as she penned a number of well-known hits for other artists, such as (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman for Aretha Franklin and Pleasant Valley Sunday for The Monkees.
She then rose to stardom in her own right the following decade. In 1970, Carole released her debut album, Writer, which featured tracks such as Goin' Back and Up on the Roof.
However, it was in the following year that the singer released her seminal album Tapestry, which received worldwide acclaim and four Grammy Awards. The record has since gone onto become one of the best-selling albums of all time.
This brand new production of the award-winning Broadway and West End show includes some of the most best-loved songs from the songwriter’s back catalogue, including You’ve Got a Friend, It Might as Well Rain Until September and The Locomotion.
