Winner of the BBC Young Musician 2012, Laura van der Heijden, will be performing in the Assembly Hall Theatre, Tunbridge Wells

Cellist Laura van der Heijden, aged 16 from West Sussex, will play Saint-Saens’ Cello Concerto No.1 at the family Christmas concert, in Tunbridge Wells.

The Royal Tunbridge Wells Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Neil Thomson, will also include on the programme Massenet’s Ballet Music; Coates’ Cinderella; Britten’s Men of Goodwill and the first performance of Bryan Kelly’s new orchestral suite, A Christmas Celebration.

It starts at 3pm on Sunday, December 1, at the town’s Assembly Hall Theatre. Tickets from £13, or £1 for under 18s.
