A wildlife park is set to stage a fundraising day online including a chance to see exclusive footage of its big cats.

The Big Cat Sanctuary in Smarden, which needs £3,000 a day to operate, has been holding live streams on Facebook Live every week during lockdown,

It will host its first Spots and Stripes Day this month, with celebrity guest appearances, exclusive footage of the cats at the sanctuary and the Paradise Wildlife Park in Hertfordshire and cat-themed activities and quizzes.

There will also be a conservation debate with director Giles Clark, and the BBC's Big Cats About the House star.

The fundraiser on Friday, May 29 will also have educational games, quizzes and competitions and will support the sanctuary’s vital welfare, breeding, education and conservation programmes, with any donations going towards its Big Cat Support Fund.

To join in the activities choose whether you want to join the Spots or Stripes team and prizes on offer include the chance to be part of lion collaring with Giles at Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Kenya and overnight safari stays and Big Cat Encounters at the Big Cat Sanctuary itself once it reopens when government guidelines permit.
