Ten different cider companies and three stages filled with live music will combine for a scrumptious weekend.

The annual Brogdale Cider Festival is one of the biggest events of the year for the home of the National Fruit Collection in Faversham.

The barn doors will be rolled open for the festival on Saturday, August 24 and Sunday, August 25 when local producers of artisan and specialist ciders and perries will be lining up to serve refreshing beverages in a range of flavours.

There will be festival games and cider pressing demonstrations, while there will be activities for little festival goers and pig racing.

Small producers from all across the county will be offering their ciders including Kentish Pip, Turners, the Kent Cider Company, Biddenden and Duddas Tun, as well as resident artisan producers Tiddly Pomme whose Woolley Pig range is produced with Brogdale's own apples.

The Cider Barn will be home to more than 50 ciders to enjoy, with cider sampling and tasting available all day. There will be a chance to try traditional flavours such as Cox and Bramley, to the more unusual – elderflower, lemon and raspberry and even salted caramel.

Visitors can follow the cider trail, scoring ciders as you go, with the most popular getting the title Cider Perry of the Festival at the end. Will last year's Yowler by the Kent Cider Company retain its crown, or will another take the crown?

For non-cider drinkers, there'll be prosecco or Pimms, plus to soak up the beverages there will be a range of Kentish produce plus a hog roast, burgers and crepes, while The Larder will have a vegetarian stall.

On the outdoor music stages headline acts include Rudy Warman and the Heavy Weather, Big Orange Head and Hullabaloo. The Old Country Crows and Jumbo Gumbo will have visitors swinging their pants on the Festival Field.

Visitors can also enjoy a spot of welly wanging to trifle eating, listen to talks and watch demonstrations while youngsters can can make a souvenir to take home in the craft tent; have a fairy face paint or head for the bouncy assault course.

There will be free parking and a free shuttle bus from Faversham mainline train station throughout the weekend. Entry is £9 and £5 for two to 15-year-olds. Book at brogdalecollections.org
