Pow! Boom! Zap! Watch as your favourite film, television and comic book superheroes swoop into the Marvel and DC Comic Con at Quex Park.
The coastal convention, which takes place in Birchington, will see characters from the thrilling world of Marvel and DC take over the park for a day of super-sized fun.
Fans can meet actors who have flown alongside Iron Man or fought villains with Black Widow and find out what it’s like to be a real-life superhero.
Appearing at the convention will be Lexi Rabe, who played Tony Stark’s daughter in Avengers: Endgame and Lilly Aspell, who performed her own stunts as a young Wonder Woman in the 2017 film and its sequel.
Leigh Gill, who starred alongside Joaquin Phoenix in Joker and has appeared in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and Game of Thrones, will also be meeting and greeting fans on the day.
The convention is also a great chance to meet the people who help create these beloved characters, with a number of illustrators and artists due to be at the event.
These include Kev Hopgood, the co-creator of Marvel characters War Machine and Hulk Buster, and Lee Bradley, who has worked on titles such as Spider-Man, Transformers and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Aside from these star-studded meet and greets, there will be plenty to explore at the festival. Snap a selfie beside replica film props and life-sized statues of Marvel and DC characters including Captain America, Thor, The Hulk and Superman.
During the day, you can also try your hand at a range of games, from retro classics to VR experiences, and even hop on board the double decker gamer bus which will be stacked with computers and consoles.
There will also be live entertainment from the Guardians of the Galaxy stage, where 11-piece band the Mixtape Collective will be performing all the hits from the film’s soundtrack.
Cosplay is widely encouraged and organisers are expecting many visitors to come dressed to the nines in Marvel and DC-inspired outfits. If you feel like coming in costume you can register for the cosplay competition online ahead of the event.
While you’re there, you can also bulk out your memorabilia collection with a gift or two from the range of vendors. There will be rare collectables, handcrafted items and graphic artwork on sale throughout the day.
Whether your children want to be Spider-Man when they grow up, or you’re just a big kid at heart and can’t wait to meet your lifelong superheroes, this marvel-ous convention is the place to be.
