I had wanted to see the musical The Band since I watched Let It Shine on the TV - I just love anything Take That do.
The show is on at the Orchard Theatre in Dartford and I was still excited to see what had done with some of my favourite tunes.
I really thought...Could It Be Magic? I knew the show was not about Take That, but about a group of teenage friends in 1992, and 25 years later and even though the famous band are never even mentioned, I was not disappointed and it was magical.
If you love a musical based on songs you know you should head along it. It is packed full of their smash hit tracks.
The cast do perform a passionate powerful story and sing Gary, Robbie, Mark, Jason and Howard's songs really well.
Songs like Pray, Back for Good, Never Forget, Shine and Relight My Fire weave perfectly into the script written by Tim Firth.
The Let it Shine winners Five to Five, are very much part of the show which tells of a heart-warming and wrenching tale of friends.
The group of young girls' enthusiasm on stage was uplifting and their only worry was to learn song lyrics from the popular Smash Hits magazine.
However, with every tale there is almost always a tragedy and their lives are torn apart and changed forever and separated after the tragic events.
I became immersed in their lives and their turmoil and emotions and later they reunite after 25 years due to their love for their favourite boyband.
The vocals of the Five to Five are perfect to fit Take That’s songs and they bring sing with style and strength.
The way they are key to the plot without ever intruding on it - really was like it was just - The Greatest Day.
The Band will be at the Orchard Theatre in Dartford until Saturday, February 9. To book tickets from £22.50, visit orchardtheatre.co.uk or call 01322 220000.
