All the things you thought you knew about dinosaurs are probably wrong.
Apparently, instead of being green and scaly, they almost all had feathers and rather than roaring terrifyingly, they sounded more like garden birds.
This – and a whole lot more dinosaur dissection – is revealed in a new stage show that comes to Kent this weekend.
So get set to have your dinosaur knowledge turned upside down by presenter and scientific expert Ben Garrod.
Ben co-presented the BBC1 show Attenborough and the Giant Dinosaur this time last year, which told the story of the discovery and reconstruction of the world’s largest known dinosaur, the titanosaur.
In So You Think You Know About Dinosaurs, Ben will take you on a fact-filled trip through the world of prehistoric creatures from the longest to the smallest and fiercest to the creepiest. Children have the chance to shout out what they already know and discover new weird and wonderful prehistoric facts “We have all at some point had a fascination with dinosaurs or thought they’re pretty cool,” said Ben.
“I want to give families the chance to take everything they thought they knew about these ancient animals and discover the truth.
“I’ll be using the most recent studies to give audiences as many amazing and cool facts as we can. I have done talks where kids will stick up their hands and ask me questions I don’t know the answer to, so maybe I’ll learn something too.”
Were dinosaurs really that dangerous, were they green or actually ginger – and will Ben be outsmarted by a sharp five-year-old?
