The streets of Maidstone will be paved with delicacies from all over the world this weekend.
Step into a cultural feast as the popular Maidstone Mela moves from Mote Park to its new venue in the heart of the town centre on Sunday, September 11.
Dozens of acts representing a range of cultures and countries will also take to the streets to perform in the day of free festivities.
Introduced back in 2002, the mela aims to contribute to building a better understanding between local communities and celebrate the County Town’s diversity.
Organisers are moving the event back into the town in a bid to reach even more people.
WHAT'S HAPPENING WHEN?
In Jubilee Square events will start at 11.30am and, after the opening ceremony, the Reel Eire Irish Dancers will take to the stage. Throughout the afternoon, until 3.20pm, acts include the Four by Four Bhangra Dancers, Phase 5 Steel Bands and Ronak Mela Brass Band.
There will also be entertainment in Fremlin Walk, where the action begins at 12.30pm and finishes at 4pm. So if you missed a Jubilee Square performance, you can catch it again in the space outside House of Fraser.
Stilt walkers, mime artists and statue artists will also all be out in Jubilee Square, Fremlin Walk and Week Street between noon and 3.45pm.
