Annie Mac will be making her debut at a Kent nightclub, but not before she takes over the reins from Zane Lowe with a weekday radio show.
The Irish superstar DJ, whose real name is Annie MacManus, will be playing at Maidstone nightclub The Source on Sunday, May 3 of bank holiday weekend, along with talent including Shadow Child and other DJs yet to be announced, who will man the decks at the all-night event from 9pm to 6am.
The Source, in Rose Lane, claims it will be "one of our biggest street parties to date."
By that time, Annie will have taken over Zane Lowe's current weekday evening new music show on Radio 1. It was announced at the weekend that New Zealand-born DJ Zane is leaving the station to take up a role with Apple in America. Annie, 36, starts her new show on Monday, March 9 and said she is "excited and humbled" at the opportunity.
Dance music fans will be glad to know that she will remain at the helm of her current Friday night show. Tickets to see Annie Mac at The Source start at £20. Visit www.thesourcebar.co.uk/events
In the meantime, clubbers can look forward to hearing Annie's colleague, Radio 1 Dance Anthems host Danny Howard, at The Source on Saturday, March 21, with his Nothing Else Matters UK tour.
Tickets for that night cost from £6. Visit www.thesourcebar.co.uk/events
