One of the UK’s most well-known rock bands is set to launch a venue’s series of summer concerts.
Chart-topping group Elbow will be the first artist to perform at Dreamland, Margate’s vintage fairground and open-air venue, during the summer season.
The BRIT Award winners will take to the outdoor Scenic Stage to perform a collection of their biggest hits, including One Day Like This and Grounds for Divorce.
Since forming almost 30 years ago, the group have released 10 studio albums, including four No. 1 albums, and four Top 20 singles.
The band, who formed just outside of Manchester in the 1990s, are also known for their memorable live performances.
Over the years, fans have enjoyed a headline set at Glastonbury Festival, a collaboration with the BBC Concert Orchestra and a performance at the 2012 Summer Olympics closing ceremony in London.
For their Margate gig, Elbow will be joined by alt-rock band the Magic Numbers.
The weekend then continues with live music from Rudimental, who will perform a DJ set on the following to launch the Margate Summer Series, a programme of live music coinciding with Dreamland’s other concerts.
Elbow will perform at Dreamland on Friday, June 7, while Rudimental will be there on Saturday, June 8.
