Dartford FC look to start the 24/25 season with a fresh new approach on and off the pitch

Supporters will get their first chance to see Dartford Football Club’s exciting new-look team when they take on League One Charlton Athletic in a pre-season friendly on Saturday 6 July at 2pm.

It’s been a busy couple of months for manager Adrian Pennock, who has brought in a new management team to help oversee an almost entirely-different playing squad for the 24/25 campaign.

.

He has already signed 12 new players, with more still to come, as he looks to hit the ground running and reignite the club’s fortunes.

And with exciting match-day entertainment and other new ideas underway off the pitch, there’s a renewed optimism and focus around the club.

He said: “We are really excited to invite Charlton Athletic to our ground, it will be a great early test for us.

.

“Obviously, we will only have had a couple of weeks of pre-season training, so won’t be where we want to be for the first league match.

“But for the club and staff, it is an opportunity to showcase our new ideas off the pitch and try a few new players out – while giving the supporters the chance to see some of our new signings wearing the shirt for the first time.

.

“It’s a totally different outlook and team to last year. We hope to see as many there to support us for what is the beginning of a new, exciting chapter in the club’s history.”

Dartford’s environmentally-friendly Princes Park Stadium, which opened in November 2006, has a family-friendly atmosphere and welcomes everyone. The stadium will have new, fun, pre-match and half-time entertainment and music, alongside a club-run burger bar and a new terrace bar. For the new season, a gyros outlet and pizza outlet will be in place to complement the other options.

.

Dartford Women won two cups and finished second in the league last season - and the club has a thriving junior scene, too. It is actively involved in the local community, running initiatives at 36 out of 42 primary schools in the area, as well as running mental health schemes and supporting initiatives for children with special needs.

Founded in 1888, the club has a long and proud tradition in non-league football, winning the Southern League, the Isthmian League Premier, the Southern League Cup and the Kent Senior Cup. It also finished runners-up in the FA Trophy. The club will look to bounce back into the National League South as they embark on their new campaign.
