Christmas light trail and Nutcracker experience to open at Leeds Castle, near Maidstone

A spectacular light trail will transform the grounds of a historic Kent castle into a winter wonderland full of rainbow colours and sparkling projections.

The Christmas Lights at Leeds Castle trail, created by the same team behind the Bedgebury event, will return to the attraction, just outside of Maidstone, for a third year.

After a successful debut in 2022, the festive outdoor trail will once again light up the castle grounds for an eye-catching after-dark experience.

The illuminations include multi-coloured trees, thousands of LED spheres, light tunnels and a wave of glowing batons.

There will also be food vendors and stalls selling hot chocolate and spiced winter warmers, as well as a chance to spot Father Christmas along the way.

The light trail opens on Friday, November 22 and will run until New Year’s Day. You can book your time slot online here.

Also coming to Leeds Castle this winter is a family-friendly experience based on the story of The Nutcracker.

A Nutcracker Christmas at the Castle is an immersive storybook adventure where visitors can meet towering nutcracker soldiers, twirling ballerinas and the Sugar Plum Fairy.

Along with the live characters, there will also be theatrical performances, festive decorations and stunning photo opportunities in the Grand Ballroom and the Land of Sweets.

The Nutcracker experience is open from Saturday, November 23 to Sunday, January 5 and is included in an admission ticket to Leeds Castle.
