The first of three gigs coming to Folkestone’s Quarterhouse venue takes place this weekend.
Singer-songwriter Damien Jurado headlines on Sunday, March 1, supported by Dana Gavanski.
Seattle native Jurado is one of the alternative scene’s most prolific artists, releasing or contributing to 18 albums since the mid 90s.
Even a health scare in 2016 didn’t slow him down, with his latest album In The Shape of a Storm, released last April.
His latest album has been described by reviewers as a ‘gorgeous and gutting return’ to his roots.
Support comes from Canadian singer-songwriter Dana Gavanski, whose debut album Yesterday is Gone will be out in late March.
Richard Dawson, dubbed the Black-humoured Bard of Newcastle, headlines the same venue on Friday, May 8.
His sixth solo album 2020 is a study of Brexit Britain and has been described by Uncut in a 9/10 review as his most direct album to date.

There is another intriguing Folkestone gig in June when Lau perform unplugged on Thursday, June 4.
It’s their first acoustic tour in a decade and the Scots, four times winners in the Radio 2 Folk Awards, have been described by The Guardian as ‘a remarkable band - the most musically adventurous trio in British folk.’

If you fancy travelling slightly further afield, promoters Melting Vinyl are also staging a series of eye-catching gigs down the road in Brighton.
Ezra Furman - who anyone who has watched either season of Netflix’s Sex Education will already be familiar with - plays an intimate gig at St George’s Church on Tuesday, May 5.
Other highlights include The Handsome Family at St Luke’s Church on Saturday, May 2.
