Flags and fresh strawberries at the ready – Dreamland is hosting its first proms in the park.
In a first for the Margate amusement park, its very own proms will star the BBC Big Band and Claire Martin on Saturday, June 15, bringing a night of nostalgia of the jazz age and big band era mixed with modern classics and pop culture.
There will be big band, jazz and swing music on the Scenic Stage and ticket holders can bring their own picnic or opt for Golden Circle seated tickets or VIP packages.
The internationally renowned BBC Big Band will be led by conductor Barry Forgie and joined by jazz singer and BBC Radio 3 presenter Claire Martin.
Widely regarded as one of the most versatile orchestras, The BBC Big Band consistently delights audiences old and new through their radio broadcasts and live performances.
Stalwarts of the Royal Albert Hall, the Proms In The Park at Hyde Park and numerous festivals, the BBC Big Band is probably best known for its show Big Band Special on BBC Radio 2, as well its appearances on BBC Radio 3’s Jazz Line Up.
Tickets are £15 plus a booking fee and include access to the event, which kicks off with the BBC Big Band from 6pm, and Dreamland’s rides.

* There are some tickets still available for DJ Pete Tong’s show the night before on Friday, June 14, with support from SG Lewis. Book here.
