A food festival boasting TV chefs and performances from Peter Andre and Sister Sledge is coming to a Kent venue for the first time.

Foodies Festival will make its debut at Dunorlan Park in Tunbridge Wells this summer, bringing three days of food stalls, speciality drinks, cooking demonstrations and live music to the outdoor space.

The festival, which last visited the county in 2022 when it set up shop at Maidstone’s Mote Park, replaces Tom Kerridge’s Pub in the Park.

The chef’s pop-up food festival announced in November that it would not return to Dunorlan Park this year, giving organisers of Foodies Festival a chance to to swoop in and take its place.

Festival director Sue Hitchen said: “We are thrilled to bring our celebration of amazing food, drink and entertainment to Tunbridge Wells, and we are proud to support local artisan producers and restaurants. We very much look forward to welcoming the community.”

There will be talks and demonstrations from Michelin-starred chef Atul Kochhar, MasterChef winner Dhruv Baker, Great British Menu star Joe Hill, This Morning regular Omar Allibhoy and MasterChef The Professionals champion Alex Webb.

Local culinary experts including Patrick Hill from Thackeray’s in Tunbridge Wells, Alex Yates from Bowleys at the Plough in Trottiscliffe and Allister Barsby from Hide and Fox in Saltwood are also set to appear.

“I'm really looking forward to the Foodies Festival tour,” says TV contestant Alex Webb. “It’s my third year in a row, and I’m glad to be returning! I can’t wait to celebrate the local food and drink in the region. I’ll be cooking some of my favourite dishes, such as lobster toast and chilli jam, as well as some classics from MasterChef!”

There will also be wine and beer tastings, an artisan food market, street food stalls, chilli eating competitions, sweet treats, a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party and a kids’ cookery school.

The entertainment for this year’s festival comes from Mysterious Girl singer Peter Andre, who will be performing his hits as well as cooking live in front of audiences.

There will also be music from the Symphonic Ibiza Orchestra and disco group Sister Sledge.

“Music, food and warm evenings - the perfect combo,” says reality TV star Peter Andre. “I’m looking forward to performing my favourite songs on the music stage, and I’m thrilled to also be cooking live in front of an audience with some brilliant chefs. I love getting creative in the kitchen at home and trying out new dishes.”
