You may not be able to head off on a woodland trail with the family at the moment, but that doesn't mean young ones should miss out.
Forestry England recently closed its woodlands in Kent at Bedgebury Pinetum in Goudhurst and Jeskyns Community Woodland in Gravesend as a result of social distancing concerns during the coronavirus outbreak.
Both sites have run family trails themed around children's characters including The Gruffalo, Zog and the Highway Rat.
The commission is instead offering free activity sheets for kids to get busy with.
There's one for Gruffalo lovers. It includes the chance to decorate your own paper owl, make a spiralling snake and a spotter challenge sheet. To get yours click here.
The Zog sheets feature dragon-related fun including making a set of dragon wings, and learning to roar. Get yours here.
For Highway Rat lovers, craft ideas and tips including making a hobby horse to ride; make The Highway Rat's hat and a colouring sheet to colour in. Get yours here.
The James and the Giant Peach trail has not run in Kent yet, but that doesn't mean you can't try the activity sheet.
Download and print it out with ideas for how to identify and find animal homes and making a bug hotel in your garden. Get yours by clicking here.
