Formula 1 star Jenson Button will be tearing up the track at Brands Hatch this weekend.
The 2009 world champion is attending the final day of the DTM German Touring Car event at the Longfield site on Sunday, May 19.
The McLaren driver, who finished eighth in last weekend’s Spanish Grand Prix, will be signing autographs for fans, and driving five lucky competition winners in a DTM ‘race taxi’ around the track. Jenson will also be presenting the winner’s trophy for the second year running.
“Brands Hatch is one of the circuits where you can really feel the tradition of motorsport,” said the 33-year-old.
“I have raced there in Formula Ford and in British Formula 3 and always enjoyed the challenge of the circuit and the fact that the fans could get so close to the action.
“I think we all can expect an exciting race on Sunday because the DTM is one of the most competitive championships in the world with some of the best drivers in the world. I am really looking forward to seeing the British fans again.”
The gates at Brands open at noon on Friday, May 17, and at 8am on Saturday, May 18 and Sunday, May 19.
The last race finishes at 6.30pm each day. Admission is free on Friday, and ticket prices start at £15 on Saturday, and £35 on Sunday - although online prices do work out cheaper. Children aged 12 and under get in free every day.
