As if being a TV star wasn’t glamorous enough, heartthrob actor Wil Johnson has added the role of resident DJ at a Kent nightspot to his resume.
Wil might be familiar to you from his recent stint as Dom Andrews in Emmerdale, or from previous parts in Waking the Dead, Waterloo Road and Clocking Off.
Now the actor, who also has a long history of theatre work including Macbeth in a National Theatre tour, has become the resident DJ at Porters Bar at Chatham Maritime.
On Saturday nights you can catch him playing the best in funk, soul, disco and club classics.
Wil, who recently moved from his native London to Faversham, said: “I started DJing way before I started acting. Growing up in north London, music was part of every second of my life as a kid and teen. Everyone had their own sound systems.
“Music has always been a big part of my life and my love for music is the same as acting – you can express yourself, it’s live and there is such variety in what you can achieve with it.
“But I’m going back into it a bit more now at Porters Bar. I play lots of different types of music, from classic house to reggae.”
Wil is at Porters Bar, alongside Dickens World, from 9pm til late on Saturdays. Entry is £5 before 11pm.
