Gin lovers can raise a glass to Leeds Castle's 900th anniversary next year with a limited edition gin.
The project with the Copper Rivet Distillery in Medway was were unveiled last month as castle managers revealed their calendar of events for the birthday year in 2019.
Now, gin fans can pre-order one of only 900 bottles of the Motte and Baillie drink which will be made.
The gin has been distilled with specially selected botanicals from the castle estate - sweet fig from the Castle Island, floral Rosehip from the Culpeper Gardens and pine picked from the Lady Baillie Mediterranean Terraces.
Each was handpicked by the castle gardeners and given to the Copper Rivet’s head distiller to infuse the flavours.
Gemma Wright from Leeds Castle said: "We are absolutely delighted to be working alongside the Copper Rivet Distillery, who are one of just a few spirit makers in the UK that undertake the complete process of brewing and distilling from grain to glass.
"We wanted to create something local and very special for our 900th anniversary and a commemorative gin seemed the perfect product and fit for the castle. I can imagine Lady Baillie and her houseguests in the 30s whiling away the evenings in the castle drawing rooms sipping on gin cocktails and enjoying jazz or playing backgammon."
The Motte & Baillie gin costs £48 for a 50cl bottle. To pre-order visit leeds-castle.com/eshop
