Neville Staple, the UK two-tone ska legend and frontman of The Specials is heading to Kent.
Dubbed 'the original rude boy', Neville will be celebrating 40 years in music when he plays The Forum in Tunbridge Wells next month, three days after he turns 67.
After The Specials, Neville went on to form the Fun Boy Three with bandmates Terry Hall and Lynval Golding and is credited with changing the face of pop music not only once but twice.
Looking back on his glory days in the late 1970s and early 1980s, Neville said: “I remember massive reactions to hit songs like Ghost Town, Too Much Too Young and Gangsters. Fans still write to me about my rugged, energetic and fun stage presence."
Looking ahead to his Kent show, which will kickstart the long Easter weekend on Thursday, April 14, he added: "The way we bring ska to the mainstream is by mixing Jamaican music with the English punky style.
"I love performing live and always include my Specials hits along with other career favourites.
"I can't wait, trust me, it's going to be party time. So come along, enjoy yourself and let's have fun."
Tickets to the gig cost £27, call the box office number on 08712 777101 or go online here
