Theatre fans will be able to glamp while watching world class Shakespeare for the first time this weekend.
World renowned players from Shakespeare’s Globe will kick off their tour with a trio of The Bard’s plays at Chilham Castle.
The troupe will perform from Friday, May 17 to Sunday, May 19.
Pericles, The Comedy of Errors and Twelfth Night will be performed across the three days, with both matinee and evening performances.
The plays will be performed in the same style as they would have been staged in the 17th century, with a stripped-back booth stage, and a small, versatile troupe of actors.
The cast will be taking on multiple roles and playing instruments too, performing tales which cover those who have crossed seas and lost their families, are seeking lost homes, and finding out what belonging means to them.
Glampers will be able to relax in a fully-equipped bell tent, with the castle as a backdrop when not watching the shows, and enjoy an exclusive tipi bar, street food and log fires.
The tour is sponsored by Taittinger & Ashford Borough Council, with the Canterbury Festival.
