Greetings and salutations to fans of 1980s cult cinema.
Teen black comedy film Heathers, set in an Ohio high school and starring Winona Ryder, has been transformed into a hit musical.
Since opening at the Other Palace in London, which is still home to the West End production, Heathers became the theatre’s highest-grossing show and sold more than 20,000 tickets during its first run at the venue.
It also received the Whatsonstage Award for Best New Musical shortly after its opening, as well as being nominated for Best Direction and Best Lighting Design.
Heathers follows a group of wealthy and popular teenage girls at Westerberg High who find themselves in the middle of a murderous scheme carried out by a rebellious outcast and one of their own.
The show is based on the 1989 film featuring a cast of young actors including Winona Ryder, Christian Slater, Shannen Doherty and Penelope Milford.
During this latest tour, the fearsome high school clique will be made up of Jenna Innes, Jacob Fowler, Verity Thompson, Elise Zavou and Billie Bowman, who have appeared in stage shows such as Les Misérables and Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella.
They will be performing original music and an adapted script by award-winning writers Laurence O’Keefe and Kevin Murphy.
Heathers the Musical will be at the Orchard Theatre in Dartford from Tuesday, May 23 to Saturday, May 27. You can book tickets online here.
