DFDS offering exclusive deals for a low-cost weekend in France

Sponsored Editorial

Calais has undergone a multi-million-pound transformation over the past year and ferry operator DFDS is partnering with a host of attractions to offer exclusive discounts for visitors to the city.

It has selected a range of hand-picked hotels and attractions to take the stress out of planning a weekend trip across the Channel to explore what the city offers.

Local attractions include the spectacular Calais Dragon, which parades along the seafront breathing fire in a display that is unique to the French city. DFDS customers can hitch a ride at a specially discounted rate.

.

For a cultural fix, the Calais Visit Pass gives visitors free access to the city’s historic museums and the renaissance-era Calais Belfy, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The more adventurous traveller can enjoy discounted sand-yachting at the city’s sandy beach.

.

Jacques Webb, Campaign Manager at DFDS, said “Calais has undergone a dramatic makeover, with millions of pounds invested in redeveloping the seafront. Now that there are no travel restrictions between the UK and France, it’s the perfect time to make the short hop across the Channel and rediscover the city.”

“We have a host of exclusive partner offers with hotels and attractions to help our customers enjoy a relaxing short break on a budget, with discounted overnight stays and reduced entry to the city’s most exciting new visitor attractions.”

.

Three-day short breaks with DFDS are from £109 return for a car and four people. Customers receive £50 cashback in DFDS’ Duty-Free shop at Calais, offering the opportunity to stock up on toys, fragrances, and alcohol at up to 50 per cent off UK high street prices.

Book by 30 June 2022 for travel before 14 December 2022. No Covid testing or forms are required when returning to the UK and DFDS’ Travel Guarantee offers free cancellations on crossings taken before 30 September 2023.

.

To obtain a discount at the partner hotels and attractions, travellers should show their ferry booking details on entry. A typical family can save up to £62 on the cost of a weekend exploring Calais’ top attractions.
