A fire station will open its doors to the public this weekend for the first time in 10 years.
The Thames-side fire station in Coldharbour Road, Northfleet, will be open for a free community safety open day from 11am to 4pm on Saturday, September 23.
There will be an action packed day of demonstrations and displays, including a cooking fire demonstration, a road traffic crash, showing how people are rescued from collisions and a line rescue from the fire station tower.
There will also be a range of modern and vintage fire engines and visitors will get the chance to have a look at the equipment used by firefighters.
Organiser, crew manager, Jason Hills, said: “The day is about helping our local community learn life-saving tips in a fun and enjoyable way.
“We look forward to welcoming you to Thames-side fire station’s first open day in 10 years.”
The RNLI, South East Coast Ambulance Service and the British Red Cross will all be there, along with Kent County Council’s road safety team.
Young visitors can also climb aboard a fire engine and put out pretend flames.
