More on KentOnline
Big hearted, down-to-earth cooks with a love of good food, those Hairy Bikers are not far off being considered national treasures.
Si and Kent-based Dave - Simon King and Dave Myers, but we all feel like we’re on first name terms with them, don’t we? - have been cooking together for more than 20 years and have whipped up something of a fan base both on TV, stage and on the bookshelves.
They have created haute cuisine dishes with Michelin-starred chefs and travelled the world in the pursuit of great food. They’ve also explored the length and breadth of the British Isles to discover brand new recipes and create their own fresh takes on cooking classics.
Their tour, An Evening With The Hairy Bikers, which comes to Dartford’s Orchard Theatre this weekend and Canterbury’s Marlowe Theatre in March, promises to be an epic night of cooking and conversation.
Their TV shows have included the Hairy Bikers’ Mediterranean Adventure and their Mississippi Adventure and the Hairy Bikers’ Food Tour of Britain.
No strangers to performing live on stage, the duo also performed a sell-out Big Night Out tour of theatres in 2010 and 2013.
They’ve also written more than 20 books, including 12 days of Christmas, the Big Book of Baking and The Hairy Dieters.
They’ll be at the Orchard Theatre in Dartford on Sunday, February 17. For tickets visit orchardtheatre.co.uk or call 01322 220000.
The bikers will also be at the Marlowe Theatre, Canterbury on Saturday, March 23. Book at marlowetheatre.com or call 01227 787787.
