A blooming good festival will bring a breath of fresh air to the county this weekend.
The annual Hanami festival - the traditional Japanese blossom festival - staged at Brogdale in Faversham is bursting into life.
The Japanese festival is dedicated to cherry blossom and plum blossom and is held at the National Fruit Collection’s orchards in a beautiful display of blossom this time each year.
You can see the blossom from the comfort of a Hanami picnic; with a guided tour of the orchards or you can visit this weekend’s Hanami Festival on Sunday, April 14, when there will be Japanese cultural demonstrations, Japanese drumming and sword displays, a Japanese tea ceremony and try calligraphy and origami.
