When you're a circus family, being a daredevil is in your blood.

So it's not surprising that Zippo's Circus aerial artist Jackie Louise, who hails from Romney Marsh, gave her daughter Lexi - whose dad Valter Jonas is one of the stunt riders with Lucius Team’s Globe of Death - a pink self-propelled motorbike for her first birthday.

Jackie took up trampolining at 16, took Theatre Studies at university and enrolled in circus school at 22.

She said: “The circus is one big family so it’s a great place to raise children. When I am performing my aerial act the rest of the circus family look after Lexi and spoil her rotten."

You can see Jackie Louise perform her death defying aerial act 10m above the ring at Zippos Circus at Jackson's Field in Rochester from Tuesday, October 8 and Sunday, October 13, where she will be joined by a cast of 35 fellow performers in Zippos Circus’ nationwide Big Top 2019 tour – The Magnificent Top Hat.

The tour celebrates 21 years since Ringmaster Norman Barrett MBE - considered the world’s greatest ringmaster, and holder of the Guinness World Record as longest serving ringmaster - first appeared at Zippos Circus.

The Brazilian Lucius Team of five motorcyclists in the famous Globe of Death will take centre stage plus performers including Paulo Dos Santos– a 3ft 6in showman, acrobat and martial artist- foot jugglers, Kenyan tumblers, Cuban Springboard acrobats, knife throwers, contortionists and dancers.
