The sixth Hop Farm Music Festival will definitely go ahead this summer.

The event's future had been in doubt after it was announced earlier this month that the Paddock Wood tourist attraction was to close after suffering "significant losses" in the recession.

But Hop Farm Music Festival organiser Vince Power confirmed this morning that the two-day event will definitely take place on Friday, July 5 and Saturday, July 5, headlined by My Bloody Valentine and Rodriguez.

Mr Power said: “I am pleased to announce the sixth Hop Farm line up this year, which includes headliners My Bloody Valentine, exclusive to the Hop Farm Festival, off the back of their much awaited new album.

"Plus I’m excited to add international folk legend Rodriguez to the bill this year.

"Searching for Sugar Man has just won an Academy Award and a BAFTA, so this is a very special year to welcome him to the Hop Farm.

"Last year has been tough for me, as it has been across the board for the festival market. I wanted to keep the festival going, but I’ve had to make changes for it to continue.”

Other acts confirmed to perform include The Horrors, Jimmy Cliff, The Presidents Of The United States Of America, Martha Wainwright, Edwyn Collins, Little Comets, Dry The River, The Staves, The Black Angels, Friends, Veronica Falls, Toy, Gaz Coombes, Tall Ships, Marcus Foster, Theme Park, Jack Savoretti, Cass McCombs, Sean Rowe, Wolf People, We Were Evergreen, Public Service Broadcasting, Temples, The Sheepdogs, Post War Years, Jesca Hoop, Concrete Knives, Luke Sital-Singh, Ben Caplan, Sweet Baboo, Drenge, Teleman, Sinkane, Paws, J Roddy Walston & The Business, Pales Seas, Syd Arthur, Washington Irving, Shields, Trevor Moss And Hannah Lou, The History Of Apple Pie, Acollective, Jess Roberts & The Silver Rays, Pyramids, Alba Lua, Ligers and Sally Archer.

The festival will have the usual three stages – Main Stage, The Wild Wood and Oast House - as well as the The Shindig stage in the Campsite.

Buskers Boulevard is to return, along with new features The Campsite Choir, Marching Bands, Fun Fair and Children’s Area.

This year's festival will have a capacity of 10,000, and will maintain its commitment to no sponsorship/branding.

Tickets went on sale this morning at 9am.
