More than 100 tractors, from vintage machines to cutting-edge models, will be on show at the Biddenden Tractorfest and Country Fair.
But the heavyweight farm vehicles are only part of the story at this family-friendly show that’s now in its fourth year.
You can also see classic cars and motorcycles, birds of prey, alpacas, morris dancing, miniature steam engines, craft stalls and shire horses as well as have a go at clay shooting and archery.
Held at Beech Lane Field, it is run by volunteers, with proceeds going to local charities and other groups.
Organiser Sue Boon said: “This is an affordable and fun day out for all the family, with something to please everyone. In the age of high-speed everything, Tractorfest creates an opportunity to glimpse a slower and simpler time. The old-fashioned atmosphere will be appreciated by those who attend.”
Among the attractions will be performances by the Headcorn Ukelele Group (HUG) both days, who performed last year, and you can meet the Appledene Alpacas from Marden who will be there in an enclosure.
THE LOGO
It started out as a simple drawing but now the Tractorfest logo has come to life.
According to the event organisers, the little orange tractor logo had become so well-known around the Weald that they decided to make it real. So began the search to find a vehicle that fitted the picture.
Sue Boon, who heads the group of volunteers in the Biddenden Entertainment and Social Team which runs the two-day event, said: “Many hours were spent trawling through tractor magazines, searching on eBay and checking out numerous websites.”
After a trip to Noke in Oxfordshire the group eventually located a BMC Mini, which is now being driven around the county promoting the event.
