With a programme featuring hypnosis, comedy opera and a musical tribute to Victoria Wood, you can’t say this year’s Faversham Fringe festival isn’t varied.
With 72 performances to choose from, taking place from Tuesday, October 25 to Sunday, October 30, visitors will have a tough time narrowing down their must-see shows.
Faversham Fringe is returning with a full programme for the first time since 2019, after being forced to run with a stripped-back line-up last year.
This year, the multi-arts festival boasts a range of comedy, music and theatre performances, all taking place at the Alexander Centre, the Arden Theatre, The Guildhall and The Saddlers.
There will be stand-up shows from Have I Got News For You writer Joe Wells, British Writers' Guild nominee Kate-Lois Elliott, Amused Moose Breakthrough Comedian of the Year winner Dan Jones and Camden Fringe performer Helen Prior, to name just a few.
Improv groups Flock Improv, Paversham and Happy Box of Imps will also be performing.
Theatre fans will be treated to a number of unique performances, ranging from dramatic storytelling to hilarious comedies, with shows such as A Spaniard's Guide to Learning Shakespeare, the Ruffian on the Stair, It Just So Happened, Resten Er Stilhed and Idolatry.
There is also plenty of music taking place during the festival, including Looking For Me Friend: The Music of Victoria Wood, performed by star of BBC One’s All Together Now, Paulus, and a whimsical whistle stop tour of opera and musical theatre in Opera-lele: Access All Arias.
If you’re bringing the kids, you might want to book tickets for some of the family-friendly performances, such as the Halloween-themed magic show, award-winning childrens’ play the Extraordinary Time-Travelling Adventures of Baron Munchausen and comedy from Kidz Klub.
There will also be poetry readings, dance showcases, hypnosis, and circus performances happening throughout the six-day festival.
Faversham Fringe takes place from Tuesday, October 25 to Sunday, October 30 at various venues throughout the town. Book tickets online here.
You can also find the full programme, with venues and show times, on the Faversham Fringe website.
