Award-winning jazz singer Clare Teal has just released her first Christmas album, Jing, Jing-a-Ling.
It is the 12th studio album by the Yorkshire-born performer, who has a Sunday night show on Radio 2, and was named British jazz singer of the year in 2005 and 2007 and BBC jazz singer of the year in 2006.
She is currently on the road performing tracks from the recording in her new Festive Fiesta show, which will be arriving at two Kent venues this weekend.
Clare and her band will perform a mix of original festive songs and classic Christmas favourites, guaranteed to get audiences in the holiday spirit.
She said: “I love Christmas and have collected Christmas music for years.
"Growing up, Bing Crosby, Perry Como, Nat King Cole and Bert Kaempfert were the festive fare of choice in the Teal household.
“Such happy memories are attached to these records and as expected making Jing, Jing-a-Ling did nothing to diminish those feelings.
"The album rehearsals and recording took place on some of the hottest days this summer. There we were in our shorts and T-shirts, all happily dreaming of a Winter Wonderland!”
Clare will be at Deal’s Astor Theatre on Saturday, December 14. Doors open at 7.30pm for an 8pm start. Tickets are £17 in advance or £19 on the door. Call 01304 370220.
