Join kmfm’s Garry and Chelsea to switch on Maidstone’s dazzling Christmas lights.
The Breakfast hosts will be helping crowds countdown to the big event from 5pm today (Thursday, November 16).
There will be live entertainment from the cast of this year’s Hazlitt Theatre panto, the New Adventures of Peter Pan, in the town’s Jubilee Square to get everyone in the festive spirit.
There will also be musical performances from samba band Bloco Fogo, local singer Jayne Snow, the Hazlitt Community Choir, the Brompton and Invicta Military Wives Choir, the Maidstone Singers and more.
If you’re heading into town early, there will also be elves and gingerbread men appearing at locations such as Lockmeadow, The Mall, Fremlin Walk and Royal Star from 4pm before the characters all head to the town centre for the main event.
During the countdown, there will also be new kmfm merchandise for you to get your hands on, including our very own santa hats, and a live game of Say It.
Visitors can even catch a glimpse of Father Christmas in among all of the festive fun.
The event, which has drawn in as many as 5,000 people in previous years, has been organised by One Maidstone BID.
It’s all free - simply turn up from 5pm and join the celebrations. The lights will be turned on at 7pm.
