The public are invited to join the biggest party of the year with acclaimed musician Jools Holland.
The pianist will be recording his Jools’ Annual Hootenanny show, which is broadcast on New Year’s Eve on BBC Two, at the Maidstone Studios on Wednesday, December 14.
Fans who wish to be in the audience are encouraged to enter the ballot for tickets here. The ballot closes on Monday, December 5 at 10pm.
Former Squeeze band member Jools Holland, who lives in Rochester, and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra will be joined by a host of guest stars and performers.
The show is recorded in front of a live audience in advance and broadcast as a countdown to the new year, usually from 11pm on New Year’s Eve.
Previous guests who have appeared on the show since it began in 2006 include Ed Sheeran, Vic Reeves, Sir Tom Jones, Lulu, Michael Buble and Nile Rodgers.
The guests for this year’s recording have yet to be announced.
Those who would like to attend the recording can apply for a maximum of two tickets online and will be notified by text message once the draw closes if successful.
If you have entered but are not selected, you will remain on a waiting list in case any tickets are cancelled.
There is a strict dress code for those attending the event. Audience members are asked to come along dressed in smart or glamorous clothing for the New Year’s Eve celebration, with no jeans allowed.
The recording, which could last up to three hours, will take place at the Maidstone venue at Vinters Park from 7pm.
