See out the Jubilee bank holiday weekend with a bang as an exciting line-up of live music and fireworks comes to Quex Park.
As part of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June the Birchington venue will host two outdoor events on consecutive days.
On Saturday, June 4 the first day, the National Symphony Orchestra will be performing classical numbers from their extensive back-catalogue.
They will be joined by the stars from Simon & Garfunkel Story from the West End, charity choir the Manwood Singers from Sandwich, Neil Duncan as the legendary Dean Martin and soprano singer Annette Wardell.
The evening will finish with a spectacular firework finale.
The following day, Quex Park will open its gates again for a tribute concert, with artists paying homage to their favourite singers and rock legends.
The line-up includes Bon Giovi, Niqi Brown as Tina Turner, Queen tribute band Majesty and George Michael tribute band Beyond Faith, with more to be announced ahead of the event.
Both concerts plan to have a street party feel and there will be a variety of food outlets and a licensed bar available, although guests can also bring their own food and drink to the park for this event.
As one of the UK’s longest-established professional freelance orchestras, the National Symphony Orchestra has recorded more than 40 complete major classic musicals since its beginnings in the 1940s. The orchestra has performed at some of Britain’s most prestigious venues, including the Royal Festival Hall, Barbican and the Royal Albert Hall.
Quex Park is a large outdoor venue in the heart of Birchington-on-Sea, just a few miles from Margate. The park has hosted events such as Sound Island Festival and Quex Park VW Show in the past, and also has its own craft village, garden centre, farm shop and restaurant for visitors.
The Platinum Jubilee Prom takes place on Saturday, June 4 and Sunday, June 5.
Tickets range from £10.40 to £28.50. Family and VIP tickets are also available.
