Keat Farm was initially a smallholding of about two acres with a large farm house originally owned a couple of hundred years ago by Lord Sandwich.
In the early days it continued to be run as a small holding, however, one day a man knocked on the farmhouse door asking if he could store a small caravan there for a short while at a cost, and the rest is history as they say.
In the late fifties, they started allowing a few tents and the odd storage caravan on the land.
Everything started to move forward from this point.
In 1964, the expansion of Keats Farm began with the purchase of a derelict residential caravan park of 20 very old units. This is now a 90 unit Park Home development.
That was followed in 1969 by a green field development, Holiday Park, while in 1972 another holiday park was purchased. This is now a residential park of 110 park homes.
Keat Farm’s holiday home dealership started in the early eighties along with the export market.
As a company they shipped many new and used caravans to The Netherlands, Belgium, France and even a few to Ireland. This lasted for many years until Europe started to develop their own industry or dealt directly with the UK factories.
Keat Farm is now celebrating its 70th anniversary with its current total of 10 holiday, touring and residential parks with over 1,300 pitches.
Now with the third generation of the family at the helm, the legacy that is ’Keat Farm’ continues.
Over the Easter and May bank holiday weeks, Keat Farm are offering a special promotion on the purchase of new holiday homes, with no annual site fee charge until the 2025 season.
So make the most of the Garden of England and get your own holiday home to enjoy at your leisure in the beautiful Kent countryside.
