It's time for a clean up - big time!
This weekend is the Great British Spring Clean and the issue of plastic and litter is at the forefront of our minds.
David Attenborough's Blue Planet highlighted the plight of our marine inhabitants facing a barrage of plastic, and moves to encourage people to re-use instead of buying plastic bottled water and coffee cups have got people involved.
The Great British Spring Clean, organised by Keep Britain Tidy, is a campaign with a simple aim: to bring people across the country together to clear up the litter that blights our towns, villages, countryside and beaches.
Running from Friday, March 2 to Sunday, March 4, it aims to inspire 400,000 people to get outdoors, get active and help clear up the rubbish that lies around us.
There are many ways you can get involved.
If you have an event you'd like to stage, you can download posters from the website to spread the word locally.
Not tempted to join a group activity? You can get involved by yourself. Register, as every single person who takes part makes a difference. By recording everyone who is involved, it shows how much litter matters to people.
Busy at the weekend? Don’t let that stop you. Could you pick up 10 pieces on the way to work? Imagine if everyone did, what a difference it would make.
Lots of schools are running their own Great Big School Clean on the Friday, so your kids can show you how.
Short on time? Visit the map online to see local beach events - and look out for a #2MinuteBeachClean board to get involved.
Make sure you share your efforts with #GBSpringClean and #LitterHeroes online.
