Set sail on a memorable Mother’s Day journey into the heart of the capital city this weekend.
The Thames Clippers Uber Boat is throwing a special celebration for mums with afternoon tea and a riverboat journey from Gravesend to London.
The sailing starts at Gravesend Pier, around 10 minutes from the town’s train station, where you will step aboard the boat and take your seat.
Passengers can capture great views of the River Thames as they travel from Kent and pass some of the city’s most recognisable landmarks.
The trip will include sights such as the Thames Barrier, The O2, the Old Royal Naval College, Canary Wharf and Tower Bridge.
If you travel over the Mother’s Day weekend, you and your mum will also be treated to afternoon tea once you step off the boat.
You can visit the Clipper Lounge at Embankment Pier, just opposite the Southbank Centre and across the water from the London Eye, and enjoy 30% off the usual price of a traditional afternoon tea.
Watch the world go by with views of the river and tuck into sandwiches, cakes, tea and coffee and your choice of either a glass of champagne or a cocktail.
When you’ve finished your meal, you can explore the city with a trip to the theatre, a walk around one of London’s Royal Parks, or a shopping splurge on Oxford Street before heading back to the pier for your journey home.
You can book single, return or all-day ticket options, with both child and adult tickets available as well as accessible tickets.
You can save 30% on afternoon tea by using the promo code MOTHERSDAY2025 on bookings until Sunday, March 30. Book online here.
The boat leaves Gravesend at 9.45am and returns at 6.25pm. Sailings also run from Tilbury Pier, North Greenwich Pier and London Bridge City Pier.
