Festival season is getting under way, and in the latest of our previews of events a short drive from Kent we turn our attention to the jazz and soul spectacular that is Love Supreme.
The festival, which takes place in the heart of the Sussex countryside close to Brighton, has earned a reputation for attracting some legendary headliners alongside the best of today's artists.
Previous festivals have included Grace Jones, Earth, Wind and Fire, Chaka Khan and Van Morrison.
This year is no exception, with a rare opportunity to see Gladys Knight on the Saturday night. The Sunday has a slightly more contemporary, but equally exciting, headline performance by Lauren Hill.
Elsewhere on the bill you can find The Cinematic Orchestra, Jimmy Cliff, Jamie Cullum on the main stage. Van Morrison features again in the shape of a 50th anniversary orchestral performance of Astral Weeks presented by Orphy Robinson.
Love Supreme is big enough to attract names of that calibre but small enough to be a friendly, intimate affair.
There are plenty of families rubbing shoulders with the serious music-lovers and plenty to keep the little ones entertained.
For many, Love Supreme really comes to life when the bands finish and the tents kick into life.
'After parties' this year include DJ sets from Louie Vega, Greg Wilson and Mr Bongo.
Love Supreme takes place from July 5 to 7 at Glynde, East Sussex - about an hour's drive from west Kent.
