Location, Location, Location expert Phil Spencer walks his dogs in Faversham in TV series Walks With My Dog

You might think Phil Spencer is most at home inside four walls as TV’s favourite property expert – working with fellow presenter Kirstie Allsopp – but a new series shows he is just at home out in the Kent countryside.

Location is as important to the Kent-born presenter, when it comes to walking his dogs as it is when talking property.

In the first episode of a new More 4 series, Walks With My Dog, Phil sets out with his beloved pets Jessie, aged eight and new puppy Scout, on a voyage of discovery across Kent.

Heading for Faversham, the trio explore the home of Britain’s oldest brewery, Shepherd Neame, and enjoy a refreshing tipple as a pit-stop during their walk, while Phil also tries the traditional game of bat and trap.

They also take a walk along the coastline and the dogs enjoy a romp in the countryside.

Best known for Location, Location, Location, Phil has presented several homes series over the years, has run his own business and has also explored Kent on four wheels, taking part in charity bike rides, including the Castle Ride 100 for Action Medical Research, which starts and finishes at Tonbridge Castle each year.

He was famous for his relationship with whippet Fanny the Wonder Dog, but these days Kent comedian Julian Clary has toned things down, even down to the name he gives his dog.

Julian, who has lived in Aldington for more than a decade in a house once owned by Noel Coward, has canine companion Albert.

The pair set off on some gentle adventures in neighbouring Sussex in the second episode of the show.

Exploring Britain’s newest national park, the pair start off in the historic town of Lewes, visiting an old queen’s house, before heading out into the countryside for a spot of food foraging and ending the day at a vineyard.

Also featured on the series with their pets will be actor Robert Lindsay, Bill Bailey with his dog Louise, presenter Ben Fogle, Angela Griffin and John Nettles, who between them, set out to sample the length and breadth of the UK’s picturesque coastline.

Walks with My Dog will be broadcast on More 4 from Thursday, March 9, at 9pm. Julian Clary and his dog Albert will feature in the second episode.
